Mona hails from the country of Turkey, where she began her studies.  Mona earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees in Business Administration, Eurasian Studies, and International Relations.

In her first career, Mona managed an accelerator program for start ups and organized annual entrepreneurship competitions.  At the Turkish Red Crescent (similar to the American Red Cross), Mona served as an international relations executive officer where she coordinated the creation of NGO and INGO partnerships that shaped strategies on domestic and international levels.  

When Mona joined the CCNS community in 2020 with her son Deniz in the 2s class with Teacher Kate, the class was online only!  But that didn’t stop Mona from building community with her class and at the end of the year, she sewed an apron for Teacher Kate made with unique patches chosen by each class member.  In the subsequent years at CCNS, Mona has served on the board as the Development of Educational Materials (DEM) chair in 2021-2022 and the Children’s Education chair in 2022-2023.  Mona is a champion for the pets and has led these committees to bring incredible arts and crafts, cooking, carpentry, and science projects. She is excited to continue being in the CCNS community as a Pre-K class Teacher Assistant.

In her spare time, Mona is an avid crafter and sewer.  You can find her looking for great deals on fabric and making new and amazing creations from her sewing machine or paper crafts from her cricut machine.
