jennie ivazian

Director/Preschool Teacher

Jennie began her career in education in 2002, teaching 7th grade science. She went on to teach kindergarten, first and second grade.  With the birth of her children, Jennie took time off from teaching and joined our program with her  first daughter in 2010. Entering the world of preschool as a parent was life changing. This experience helped her discover a passion for teaching within early education, and in a co-op preschool environment where she can work with preschool children and their families. After three and a half years as a CCNS parent, Jennie transitioned to our teaching staff as our preschool teacher in the fall of 2013.

With four fulfilling years of preschool teaching underway, Jennie was inspired to create our Big Trees program. Exploring nature with young children is something she considers to be magical and incredibly rewarding. In 2017, she excitedly led the first of many sessions of Big Trees families on local nature experiences in beautiful outdoor locations surrounding Cupertino Co-op. In 2018 Jennie was awarded a Teacher Award for the creation and launch of Big Trees from the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (CCPPNS). Jennie has proudly served as the CCNS Director since June 2020.

Jennie was born in Redwood City, raised in Fresno and lived in San Luis Obispo, Goleta and Ventura before settling in Downtown Sunnyvale in 2007.  She resides there with her husband, daughters (born 2006 and 2008) and dog. She considers the Bay Area to be an amazing place to live and raise a family, with so many wonderful places to explore.  In addition to her passion for co-op preschool life, Jennie savors live music, time with family and friends, traveling, hiking and delicious beverages.
