Big Trees Teacher

Holly McCullough joined the CCNS community as a parent in 2017 and completed our program with her two children.  She was excited to find a supportive community where parents and children could learn and grow together.  She joined the CCNS Board of Directors in 2019 as the Parent Education chair, and was thrilled to become the Big Trees teacher in 2021.  Holly has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University, and worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism.

As a child, Teacher Holly spent weekends looking for birds in the bay lands, wading in creeks under redwood trees, and following trails of ants in her grandparents' backyard.  As a parent, Holly found her family's most peaceful and productive days were spent on those same trails.  As our Big Trees teacher, Holly hopes to encourage families to prioritize time outside and feel confident exploring nature together.  She prepares a classroom without walls including a location to explore, information to share about what might be happening outside and activities to help young minds grow and small bodies learn new skills.

Teacher Holly was born and raised in the Bay Area, and currently resides in Sunnyvale with her husband and two elementary aged children.  When she is not exploring local trails, Holly loves cooking up new recipes, growing vegetables and native plants in her garden, and embracing her community.
